Your Submissions Wanted!
Berlin Free Town Library (BFTL) is holding a photo contest and wants community members to participate! Rebekah Lamphere, BFTL Board member and Co-organizer of the event, says “the Berlin Library is excited to showcase the talents from their larger community of Berlin, Grafton, Stephentown and Petersburgh. We’ve had photo contests in the past, but this one is bigger and better, offers more scope for ideas, and gives people of all ages two opportunities to win.”
Submissions & Deadlines
The contest will feature four categories: Pets/Animals, Friends & Family, Nature, and Avant- Garde/Artistic. Entries should be submitted by email to [email protected] by January 31st. There is a limit of two submissions per person. There is no cost to participate, and entries received by the deadline will be showcased at the Library during the month of February. As Lamphere notes: “We hope people will visit the library to see the talent from a cross section of their community!”
Prizes Awarded
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges from throughout the Berlin Community, and winners announced at an Open House Unveiling on Saturday, February 10th from 10am-12 noon. Two awards will be given in each category: $75 for First Place, and $25 Honorable Mention. Category winners will compete for the overall Grand Prize ($100) and Honorable Mention ($50). A People’s Choice Award ($50) will also be given based on attendee voting at the Open House on Feb 10th.
